Welcome to Malvarosa, our family-owned, Spanish tapas restaurant located in Edinburgh's popular seaside town of Portobello.  I'm Alvaro from Madrid and together with my wife Sarah (from Edinburgh) - we opened Malvarosa in 2011.  It was fuelled by our passion and dedication to provide authentic, home-cooked, fresh and tasty tapas to you, our customers.  Just the way my 'madre' (mother) made them for me!  

 

Offering the true, tasty flavours that emanate from our range of tempting, regional dishes we offer from across Spain together with our fine selection of Spanish wines, beers, cocktails, coffees and soft drinks.  Our philosophy is that great food should be enjoyed with the great company of family and friends in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and this is what we offer at Malvarosa.  

 

We also provide a take away service for our coffees and all our food from our perfect paellas, crispy calamares to our tasty churros con chocolate  (either directly from us or via JustEat).  And we can organise outside catering for any occasion where we'll come to you and cook our incredible, award-winning paella (in 2023 Restaurant Guru gave us the award of 'Best Paella in Edinburgh')!
